FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can we meet before hand?

Definitely! I could be photographing the most important day of your lives so for me it is very important to get to know you and find it really helps relax you both ready in time for the wedding. If meeting up for a quick coffee is not possible then we can set up a Skype meeting or even just a phone call.

How far do you travel for weddings?

I shoot up and down the country so I’m happy to travel to any wedding venue, we can discuss travel arrangements during the consultation.

Do you shoot with a second photographer?

I would always encourage having an extra pair of eyes on your wedding day so if you would like me to bring a second shooter then we can easily add this to your package. I have a great network of photographer friends that would be able to cover the second shooter position for the day.

Do you offer engagement shoots?

Of course, I love engagement shoots, I find it really helps settle the couples nerves and get them use to the camera before the big day.

Do you shoot abroad?

Absolutely! My prices are exactly the same as they are here in the UK just with the addition of travel, expenses and accommodation.

Do you take posed/group shots?

I do, although I am very much a documentary style photographer I have found that there is always someone in the family that would love to see some formal family shots. We can discuss and make a list of the people you would like photographed on the day that I will keep on me so I can tick them off one by one. I try to have these done within a half an hour window as the guests do tend to get restless.

Can we provide a list of must have shots?

I’d always suggest a list for formal family shots as it speeds up the process so that you and your guests can quickly get back to enjoying your day and I can get back to documenting it!

Do you have insurance?

I do indeed, my business is completely covered, this includes personal indemnity, public liability and complete coverage of all my gear.

Do we need to feed you at the reception?

Who doesn’t love being fed? I’ll be photographing your wedding for the entire day so a bit of food will definitely help keep me going through out the evening and be hugely appreciated!

What if you get ill on the day?

To date this has never happened, but to keep your mind at ease I’m lucky to be a part of a close network of professional photographers that would be able to cover my position in a worse case scenario.

How and when will we receive our photos?

I always aim to get your images delivered to you within 6-8 weeks of the wedding day, during peak season this could fluctuate slightly as this is just a basic guideline. You will receive your images via a password protected online gallery that you can share with your family and friends and a bespoke presentation box containing your images on a USB.

Can we have the RAW/Unedited photos?

In short, no. I don’t give out the RAW files as these are an unfinished product. The RAW unedited files are not available for viewing or purchase. I take great pride in editing every shot that is delivered to you and see no need or point in delivering an unfinished product.

Can we share the photos on social media?

Yes! I encourage you to! I just kindly ask that if you are going to post on social media that you credit ‘Lewis Membery Photography’ plus a link to www.lewismembery.com, easy!

Who owns the copyright of the images?

To keep it simple, the photographer always owns the copyright of the photographs, you can’t edit/manipulate (instagram filter, crop etc.), sell the images, enter them into competitions or submit to blogs. However you do have license to print and share the photographs.

How much is the deposit?

The deposit is 30% of the final package cost which is to be paid at the time of the contract being signed. The remaining payment is then due 30 days before the wedding day. Once the deposit is paid and the contract is signed the date is all yours and in my diary!

How do we go about booking you?

You can either send a direct email to: info@lewismembery.com or fill out the contact form, here.
I will then be in touch so that you can tell me all about your big day, I'll then send over some contracts for you to sign, request the booking deposit and then I'm all yours!
